Luke 24:1‭-‬2‭, ‬4‭-‬7‭, ‬9‭-‬12‭, ‬36‭-‬43
Now on the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they, and certain other women with them, came to the tomb bringing the spices which they had prepared. But they found the stone rolled away from the tomb. And it happened, as they were greatly perplexed about this, that behold, two men stood by them in shining garments. Then, as they were afraid and bowed their faces to the earth, they said to them, “Why do you seek the living among the dead? He is not here, but is risen! Remember how He spoke to you when He was still in Galilee, saying, ‘The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.’ ” Then they returned from the tomb and told all these things to the eleven and to all the rest. It was Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary the mother of James, and the other women with them, who told these things to the apostles. And their words seemed to them like idle tales, and they did not believe them. But Peter arose and ran to the tomb; and stooping down, he saw the linen cloths lying by themselves; and he departed, marveling to himself at what had happened. Now as they said these things, Jesus Himself stood in the midst of them, and said to them, “Peace to you.” But they were terrified and frightened and supposed they had seen a spirit. And He said to them, “Why are you troubled? And why do doubts arise in your hearts? Behold My hands and My feet, that it is I Myself. Handle Me and see, for a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see I have.” When He had said this, He showed them His hands and His feet. But while they still did not believe for joy, and marveled, He said to them, “Have you any food here?” So they gave Him a piece of a broiled fish and some honeycomb. And He took it and ate in their presence.

Jesus showed his disciples that there’s life after resurrection…he proved to them that he was not just a spirit but was as human as them.

The resurrection of Jesus Christ changes the game. He reversed centuries of pains and curses. He fulfilled hundreds of prophecies with his resurrection. Death no longer has power over us, Jesus gave us access to the throne-room of grace. His resurrection came with benefits.
The benefits of resurrection:
1. Guilt and Shame are gone Isaiah
Jesus took away the nature of sin and broke the back of guilt and shame.
2. He dealt with fear of death. 2 Peter 1:16
We are no longer afraid of death because we know we are also going to resurrect like Jesus did.
3. God’s eternal Love is guaranteed. John 3:16, Roman’s 5:10, Col 1:15. if God loved us, even when we were estranged and enemies, how much more now that Jesus has paid the price.
4. Life now has purpose and meaning . We are now God’s hands extended to show God’s love to everyone…representing Christ in this world of pain and despair. We now live to honor God.
5. Heaven becomes a certainty We know exactly where we are going even after death.

6. God’s Spirit now lives in us
7. Restoration of all things Restoration in the Bible doesn’t just put us where we were/are supposed to be…it is better. God gave Job twice as much after his restoration. Joel 2:25-26 say “So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, The crawling locust, The consuming locust, And the chewing locust, My great army which I sent among you. You shall eat in plenty and be satisfied, And praise the name of the Lord your God, Who has dealt wondrously with you; And My people shall never be put to shame”
Jer 30:17, Isaiah 61:7
