Habakkuk 1:12‭-‬17; Habakkuk 2:1‭-‬4 NKJV
Are You not from everlasting, O Lord my God, my Holy One? We shall not die. O Lord , You have appointed them for judgment; O Rock, You have marked them for correction. You are of purer eyes than to behold evil, And cannot look on wickedness. Why do You look on those who deal treacherously, And hold Your tongue when the wicked devours A person more righteous than he? Why do You make men like fish of the sea, Like creeping things that have no ruler over them? They take up all of them with a hook, They catch them in their net, And gather them in their dragnet. Therefore they rejoice and are glad. Therefore they sacrifice to their net, And burn incense to their dragnet; Because by them their share is sumptuous And their food plentiful. Shall they therefore empty their net, And continue to slay nations without pity?
I will stand my watch And set myself on the rampart, And watch to see what He will say to me, And what I will answer when I am corrected. Then the Lord answered me and said: “Write the vision And make it plain on tablets, That he may run who reads it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, It will not tarry. “Behold the proud, His soul is not upright in him; But the just shall live by his faith.

Habakkuk asked God a question; expecting God to do something about all the injustice and issues. Instead God said something worse was coming.
Habakkuk continued in verse 12 asking how God could allow this, since He is just and merciful.

We need to realize that God’s plan and our plans are never the same

Isaiah 55:8-9 say “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord . “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts”.

What we do most of the time is use our little experience to describe God…believing we’ve figured Him out and everyone else needs to align with our perception of Him.
God will not conform to our idea of Him. He is bigger than that. There are things we can’t get answers to on this side of eternity and that is where faith comes in.

Because we have an erroneous view of who God is, it makes it difficult to handle the situations we find ourselves in.

If you remove God’s sovereignty you will forever question his wisdom.

Facing challenges is not really the problem, the real problem is that we think we are alone in it. We think we are the only one going through it. If you know that God is with you, it will change your attitude and you will draw strength from this.
Gen 39:21 says But the Lord was with Joseph in the prison and showed him His faithful love.

Regardless of what you are going through, don’t put God in a box. He is not limited by your challenges.

Habakkuk was asking God “how long the issue was going to continue”
Most people can handle adversity if they know how long it will last.
Habakkuk didn’t get the response he wanted so he concluded ” I will stand my watch And set myself on the rampart, And watch to see what He will say to me”. Meaning I will keep my mouth shut but keep my ears and eyes open.

I will stop struggling, allow God be God, let Him do what He wills and when He is done, it will make sense.

Whatever you are going through, you are not alone. God is with you…the God of the universe is with you. Allow Him finish what He is doing before you think you have figured Him out.
