Positioning RoCA for impact

I Timothy 3:14‭-‬15 NKJV
These things I write to you, though I hope to come to you shortly; but if I am delayed, I write so that you may know how you ought to conduct yourself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.

Funding God’s redemptive vehicle
The church is the vehicle for God’s redemptive work.
The question then is, how do we fund it?
God desires to continue working through His church, as His vehicle for redemption.
A vehicle for reaching out to the world about the saving grace of Jesus Christ
A vehicle that is God’s hands extended to reach and touch the world with the love of God

The church is a gathering of people that have declared the lordship of Jesus, have been saved by the grace of God and incorporated into the body of Christ through baptism with the Holy Spirit. They are joined together in a new covenant with God and a covenanted relationship with one another.

God’s desire primarily is to bless and establish us…God needs us as partners to make this happen.

You can’t fund the gospel without resources and finances.
If we are going to have impact, as a ministry, we have to be ready to give.

Acts 7:38 NKJV says
“This is he who was in the congregation in the wilderness with the Angel who spoke to him on Mount Sinai, and with our fathers, the one who received the living oracles to give to us,

While the children of Israel were im the wilderness, the Tabernacle was the vehicle for God’s blessings and protection. All they had to do was come to the outer court with your offering before the priest. The Tabernacle/priesthood ministry was the vehicle God used to establish them. The daily maintenance of the Tabernacle and priesthood must be met for it to be ongoing.
Acts 7:38
While the Children of Israel were in Egypt, God did not make any demands from them…however, that changed the moment they left egypt and entered the wilderness. They had come together as a people, God’s people, under the leadership of Moses. Exodus 25:1‭-‬6 NKJV
Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying: “Speak to the children of Israel, that they bring Me an offering. From everyone who gives it willingly with his heart you shall take My offering. And this is the offering which you shall take from them: gold, silver, and bronze; blue, purple, and scarlet thread, fine linen, and goats’ hair; ram skins dyed red, badger skins, and acacia wood; oil for the light, and spices for the anointing oil and for the sweet incense;

After they had built the Tabernacle, God gave them all kinds of laws, 10 commandments, civil laws, dietary laws, all the laws and the last one was the tithe.
The Tithe was to maintain the tabernacle and an inheritance for levites.

Numbers 18:21-24
“Behold, I have given the children of Levi all the tithes in Israel as an inheritance in return for the work which they perform, the work of the tabernacle of meeting. Hereafter the children of Israel shall not come near the tabernacle of meeting, lest they bear sin and die. But the Levites shall perform the work of the tabernacle of meeting, and they shall bear their iniquity; it shall be a statute forever, throughout your generations, that among the children of Israel they shall have no inheritance. For the tithes of the children of Israel, which they offer up as a heave offering to the Lord , I have given to the Levites as an inheritance; therefore I have said to them, ‘Among the children of Israel they shall have no inheritance.’ ”

The Tabernacle was a vehicle for establishment of the Children of Israel but they had to fund it.

The tithe is like a level playing field so that

In the new testament, Jesus’ coming gave birth to the church. Jesus fulfilled certain requirements of the old. The church replaced the Tabernacle. Jesus fulfilled all the laws “except one”.
He fulfilled the ten commandments, the civil and ceremonial laws replacing it with “love the lord your God…and your neighbor as yourself”
He fulfilled the priesthood requirements and abolished all the peace offerings and the likes by bringing us to God.
Even the dietary laws were replaced with the law of liberty
In 1 Cor 5:7 he replaced the law of passover.
He redeemed us from the curse of the law.
Gal 5:1 It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery
Even the law of Sabbath…Christ became our rest.
In Gal 3:13 He redeemed us from the curse…even the curse of the tithe. Jesus took care of that.
But when you don’t give it, you are robbing your local assembly of the funds needed to fund the gospel.
Jesus did not abolish giving to support the church as a vehicle for God’s redemptive work

The new testament giving model can be seen in Acts 4:32-35
Now the multitude of those who believed were of one heart and one soul; neither did anyone say that any of the things he possessed was his own, but they had all things in common. And with great power the apostles gave witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And great grace was upon them all. Nor was there anyone among them who lacked; for all who were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the proceeds of the things that were sold, and laid them at the apostles’ feet; and they distributed to each as anyone had need.

2 Cor 9:6-12
But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work. As it is written: “He has dispersed abroad, He has given to the poor; His righteousness endures forever.” Now may He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for food, supply and multiply the seed you have sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness, while you are enriched in everything for all liberality, which causes thanksgiving through us to God. For the administration of this service not only supplies the needs of the saints, but also is abounding through many thanksgivings to God,

The church needs resources to advance God’s kingdom and we all have to give more.
We may not call it tithes but we want to call it covenant giving to make the ministry move forward and a minimum of 10% from all.
Let us prayerfully decide to partner with God to take RoCA to the next level. Amen
